Setting up your Eagle mail on your Mobile device

Set up email using the iOS mail app

  1. Make sure that your device has an active data connection either through your cellular provider or WiFi.
  2. Tap Setting > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account
  3. In the Add Account page, tap Exchange.
  4. Enter your full email address, for example, and your password, and then tap Next.
    If the device can't find your settings, you need to add them. In Server, enter, and then add your Username and Password.
  5. By default, Mail, Contacts and Calendar information are synchronized. Tap Save.

Set up email on an Android phone or tablet

  1. From the Applications menu, select Email. This application may be named Mail on some versions of Android.
  2. Type your full email address, for example, and your password, and then tap Next.
  3. Select Exchange account. This option may be named Exchange ActiveSync on some versions of Andriod.
  4. Enter the following account information, and then select Next. 
    1. Domain\Username: Type your full email address in this box. If Domain and Username are separate boxes in your version of Android, leave the Domain box empty, and type your full email address in the Username box.
    2. Password: Type the password that you use to access your account. 
    3. Exchange Server: Type for your server name.
  5. As soon as your phone verifies the server settings, the Account Options screen opens.  The options available depend on your version of Android.
  6. Select Next, and then type a name for this account and the name you want displayed when you send email.
  7. Select Done to complete the email setup and start using your account.


Every residence hall room has at least one phone port. The ability to dial local calls is free, but students will need to purchase a calling card in order to make long distance calls. Students need a basic touchtone phone without an answering machine. The University provides each room with voicemail that accommodates multiple occupants. 

Each room has a maximum of four mail boxes assigned to it. To access and setup your voice mail for the FIRST time you need to:

  1. Dial “69999"
  2. Enter your mailbox number (example 16400)
  3. Enter your security code. The FIRST time you setup your voice mail, your security code will be "0000"
  4. A "setup wizard" will walk you through the rest of the setup

To access your voicemail after initial setup:

  1. Dial "69999"
  2. Enter your mailbox number
  3. Enter your security code chosen during setup

Review all of the options associated with the CMU voice mail system. Once your voice mail is setup, the next time you pickup your phone AND you have a voice mail message you will hear a voice that says "YOU HAVE A MESSAGE."

To access your voice mail while on Christmas or Spring break from home or off campus, dial 660-248-6999 and enter your voice mailbox number when prompted.

IMPORTANT NOTE: 911 service is available on the Central Methodist University campus. If there is an emergency and you need to contact our local 911 office, you may either dial 911 or 9-911. We also recommend contacting the RA or Hall Director on duty and informing them of any situations. The 911 office has the ability to trace the 911 call back to a residence hall room.
