Office 365 Third-Party Apps
Microsoft Office 365 offers a host of applications for seamless collaboration, communication, and productivity. Tools included in CMU’s Microsoft Office 365 suite include Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, OneDrive and more!
At this time, users cannot access the plugin store or grant third-party application permission to interact directly with the data stored in their accounts. This approach helps avoid accidental or malicious exposure of user data. Many third-party Microsoft Office 365 applications make copies of files or take data outside of CMU’s secure environment. In addition, some third-party apps may leave data unencrypted while in transit.
For University-supported third-party applications and services, the Office of Technology Services has already made the appropriate configuration changes to our Microsoft Office 365 environment.
