Nursing Degree Programs

CMU's Bachelor of Science in Nursing program prepares students to be competent and compassionate nursing professionals. It teaches the skills required for nursing, while emphasizing honesty, integrity, and a strong sense of personal responsibility. CMU's Nursing program offers a rigorous academic and clinical experience.


Nursing BSN

CMU's Nursing program is taught in the Thogmorton Center for Allied Health, which features the most advanced nursing technology in mid-Missouri. Students get hands-on experience working with simulators and through actual patient contact. Classes cover a wide variety of areas from pharmacology to human anatomy, and management to family nursing. The Nursing program offers clinical experiences in a variety of health care facilities.

Accelerated Nursing

The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program option is designed for individuals who wish to earn a BSN and enter the nursing profession in an accelerated time frame. This program can be completed in 14 months of study and is located at CMU-Columbia in the Forum Shopping Center. Clinical experiences will occur in a variety of mid-Missouri health care facilities.

RN to BSN Nursing

Are you ready to improve your nursing skills so you can make more of an impact on the world? The Registered Nurse-to-Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at CMU prepares qualified students to provide a higher-level of nursing care that benefits communities, families, and individuals of all ages. This program is designed for students who have already acquired an RN, and builds an advanced skill set that sets them up for professional success.

Master of Science in Nursing

The MSN program at CMU is facilitates opportunities for qualified students to acquire the knowledge necessary to provide excellent nursing leadership and management skills while nurturing a research-oriented, mentor and evidence-based practice environment. The master's degree in nursing at CMU is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

The Master of Science in Nursing has two tracks:

Students are admitted in cohorts with minimum of 10-12 people per cohort. MSN application deadlines are July 1 and Decebmer 1 of each academic year, with cohorts beginning in August and January.
