Books

Dozens of classes mean hundreds of books that are an essential part of your CMU experience. We simplify the book-buying process with a customized list for the student. But if you have questions, contact the Eagle Store at 660-248-6990 or eaglestore@centralmethodist.edu.

Book Rental Information

Textbook rental is available for both used and new books. Textbook rental occurs at your time of checkout. You must use a credit card so bring one with you if shopping in person.  Rented textbooks are to be returned during the week of finals.

Book Return Policy

The final day to return textbooks for a refund is two weeks after the semester begins. We require cash register receipt and a drop slip from the Registrar. The bookstore will print drop slip at time of return. You will not be refunded without both.

Refunds occur in the same manner as the purchase. If you purchased by credit card, then it will be credited back to your card. If you were issued a voucher for books, then your voucher account will be credited. Checks must have ten working days to have cleared the bank.

Textbooks can be returned up to 30 days from the start of class. New textbooks must be in original condition in order to receive a refund. If the item was shrink wrapped, it must still be shrink wrapped upon return.  Ebooks products can be returned as long as the viewed content did not exceed 20 percent. There are no exceptions.

We cannot refund money for any course packs, nor can they be sold back to us during buyback. These course packs are special orders, not published textbooks. They are indicative only to CMU, and have no resale value to a book dealer. Copyright law also prohibits reselling used copies.

The bookstore must send back unsold books to the publishers 60 days from the first day of class. Please be sure you have purchased all the books you will need or we may not have them in stock.
