Eagle Alerts - FAQ's

What is Eagle Alerts?
This is the University’s name for the emergency notification system sponsored by e2Campus. Eagle Alerts is a text messaging system that allows the university to communicate with members of the campus community quickly in the event of an emergency. Once a person completes the sign-up process, notifications may be sent through text messages, email or voice.

When will Eagle Alerts be used?
The university has created a well-defined set of situations that would prompt a Eagle Alert.
Here are some examples of when the service would be used:
- Safety threats in which an armed or dangerous person is at large on or near campus.
- Major facility emergencies or evacuations, such as fire.
- Severe weather. A closing due to snow/ice or a threat from a tornado requiring those to take shelter.

Where can I update my information?
Each individual subscriber must update his or her contact information by logging into your Eagle Alert account and visit the Services tab. You can unsubscribe from groups or subscribe to groups from the Group tab.

How do I Opt-Out (remove myself) from receiving Eagle Alerts?
Please log into your Eagle Alerts account and visit the Account tab to terminate your account. You may also opt-out of one particular group by visiting the Group tab.

What Wireless Carriers are supported?

What if I don't have a cell phone or my cell phone doesn't have text messaging?

So if you don’t have text-messaging available, you will still be able to receive emergency messages through your preferred contact method.

Will this cost me anything?
The University will not charge a subscriber fee. However, depending on your wireless carrier provider and the plan you have, you may be charged for SMS/text messages.

Will my contact information be shared with anyone?
