Eagle Alerts

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to register for Central Methodist University's state-of-the-art emergency notification system. It is the safest way to ensure that you receive critical university notifications on safety issues and school closings. The system sends simultaneous messages to all registered text-message capable phones, PDAs, and email addresses to alert registrants of information critical to their safety and well-being. The service will also post the message on the University's official Facebook page and as a subscriber, you have the option to choose if you would like to receive an automated phone call.

 BEFORE YOU REGISTER

• Do NOT use your On-Campus number. (i.e. 248-6xxx)
• This service is completely voluntary. You may opt-in or opt-out at any time
• You are responsible for messaging charges by your service provider
• You will not receive messages for which you did not register
• Your information is not shared with or sold to third parties.
• The "opt out by" field is the date your service automatically expires. Select the first available date after you wish to discontinue service. A reminder will be sent before your account expires so you could extend your service longer if needed.

REGISTRATION TIPS

• You only need to create one account. After you have completed registration, you may edit your account and add family members' mobile phone numbers and additional email addresses
  • Each account can have two mobile SMS numbers, four voice numbers and six email accounts.
• Make sure you know the name of your cell phone provider (i.e. AT&T, Verizon, etc.)
• When entering phone numbers, remember to use your area code and NO punctuation
• During the registration process:
• Once you chose "Create Account”, you will be sent to a web page where you must enter the validation code that you will receive via text message on the phone being registered
• When you receive the validation code, enter this code, click "Validate" and your account will be activated
• The registration process is not complete until you receive a validation code on the mobile phone via text message and type that code on the registration site.

Within seconds it will ask you to text Yes to confirm. You will then receive a confirmation text.

Note: Fast Sign-up will only subscribe you to text messages, if you want to add voice and email please use the sign-up form.

• You do not have to be logged in to validate email, simply reply to the email when you receive it later.
