Sociology

Overview
Choosing a major is one of the most important decisions you will make in college. Students tend to chose sociology because they are interested in how society operates. Many students are drawn to sociology because they are concerned about social problems and injustices and want to do something about it. Sociology provides these students with the analytical tools they need to understand and help change society.

One of the strengths of the sociology program at Central Methodist University is flexibility. Students are able to explore their own interests and conduct research on social issues that they personally feel are important. In many classes, books in the course are selected with the students' interests in mind. This is something that most sociology programs cannot provide. If you are looking for small personalized courses that will challenge your intellect and enable your ability to help make our society a better place to live, then a major or minor in sociology at Central Methodist University is built for you!
