About Fayette
Central Methodist University is located in the heart of Fayette, a
community of approximately 2,800 people located 25 miles northwest of
Columbia in the center of Missouri. It is the county seat of Howard
County and is rich in history, with many of the older homes and
buildings listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Stroll around our courthouse square and visit our Main Street shops, art
galleries and restaurants. If you’d rather enjoy the great outdoors,
head to D.C. Roger Lake, Peters Lake, or Rickett's Lake where you will
find camping and picnicking facilities, a Frisbee-golf course, great
fishing, and a boat ramp. Fayette also has an outdoor swimming pool
(that is open from Memorial Day-Labor Day), a great City Park, a Skate
Park, and a Golf Course.
