A message from the president

Dr. Marianne Inman

Central Methodist University serves more than 3,000 students in nearly 100 communities around Missouri. Founded in 1854 as a church-related, values-based institution, its commitment to quality, personalized learning experiences extends to a broad range of professional disciplines and educational partnerships. Central Methodist’s programs include the residential undergraduate liberal arts college experience at the Fayette campus as well as degree completion opportunities and master’s degrees in education, clinical counseling, and nursing for primarily adult learners. Dual credit courses for qualified high school students are also available.

CMU believes that a complete education includes intellectual, social, physical, and spiritual dimensions. Our programs offer numerous opportunities for leadership, creativity, responsible risk taking, personal development, and service. The Central Methodist experience changes lives forever through its distinctive mission of preparing leaders of character. Throughout our curriculum as well as co-curricular activities there is an emphasis on making responsible life choices with a deep concern for the common good. At CMU we believe that each person is an individual of intrinsic worth who has an obligation and an opportunity to make positive differences in the world. All of our programs focus on creating a full and rewarding life for oneself as well as for others.

We at Central Methodist University are proud of our strong academic programs, our emphasis on character and leadership, our longstanding liberal arts tradition, our orientation towards the future, our ongoing and historic ties to the United Methodist Church, and the faculty, staff, and students who make up this very special community. We wish all students success and fulfillment as members of the Central Methodist University family.
