Antigen Testing

Antigen Testing

COVID-19 antigen testing of staff, faculty, and students is under way. Central has acquired a testing device which will provide results within an hour. Individuals will be tested more frequently if necessary. Athletes will be tested prior to competitions.

Ionization

Ionization Air Cleaners Being Installed

Central will have individual ionization air cleaners installed in strategic buildings on campus. The devices come from Global Plasma Solutions NBPI patented technology, demonstrating a 99.4 percent reduction rate towards inactivating COVID-19.

Monitoring

Respiration, Pulse, Temp Monitoring

Central is purchasing an app which checks and records pulse and respiration to actively monitor student health. The app will work in conjunction with facial recognition temperature monitors which are being placed in each building.

Cleaning

Cleaning

At the center of our COVID-19 mitigation efforts is cleaning. Not only are we using the Protexus electrostatic fogger, Central has added a 3rd shift cleaning crew, and increased cleaning schedules in higher-traffic areas such as residence halls and dining areas.

Face coverings

Face Coverings Required

Central Methodist University has instituted a policy requiring face coverings. All of Eagle nation is required to wear a face covering indoors. The risk of acquiring COVID-19 is reduced to less than 5 percent when everyone in the room is wearing a face covering.

Distancing

Distancing Changes Across Campus

Distancing is incorporated across campus, particularly in classrooms and dining. Central has created a second dining hall as well as grab-and-go options. In addition, several new sections of classes have been added to reduce class sizes as well as the purchase and installation of in-classroom cameras to allow for simultaneous in-class and online learning.
