Margaret "Maggie" Gebhardt was named the media content specialist for Central Methodist University's Marketing and Communications Department in July, 2016. In August, 2018, she was promoted to assistant director of marketing and communications.

Her responsibilities include writing, editing, and distributing CMU press releases and feature stories for various media outlets, as well as Central's alumni magazine, The Talon. She also writes content for the University website, and for many other marketing and advertising purposes including video scripts, brochures, landing pages, and more. She is a photographer, often taking photos and conducting interviews at events, and also runs CMU's academic achievement system, Merit, which generates press releases and achievement notifications for Central students. Additionally, she manages Central's campus digital signs, which are published daily on T.V. screens across campus, and assists with Design Conductor submissions.

A Glasgow, Mo. native, Maggie graduated from Central Methodist in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in communications. Prior to returning to Central professionally, she was a feature reporter for The Hays Daily News in Hays, Kan., earning first place awards in the Kansas Press Association’s 2016 Awards of Excellence for best series, best religion story, and best education story, among other honors; and taking first place in 2015 for best feature story.
