FAYETTE, Mo. - The Central Methodist University volleyball team landed two players on the All-Heart of America Athletic Conference teams announced Friday.
Senior middle hitter Viola Rotich (Eldoret, Kenya) was selected to the All-HAAC First Team after earning Second Team honors a year ago and honorable mention in 2007. Rotich finished the season with 328 kills and 124 blocks, including 94 solo stops. She led the HAAC with a .364 hitting percentage, which ranked her No. 21 in the NAIA. Rotich also ranked fifth in blocks per set and seventh in total blocks in the conference.
Sophomore libero Melanie Touchette (Millstadt, Ill.) was named to the All-HAAC Honorable Mention after tallying 544 digs this season for an average of 5.4 per set. She finished third in the conference in digs per set and seventh in total digs, while earning a No. 24 ranking in the NAIA for digs per set. Touchette was selected as the HAAC Libero-of-the-Week Nov. 9 after averaging more than 9.2 digs per set in CMU's final two matches of the season.
