Stone Named ‘Campus Event Planner of the Year’

Wins national Power Performers award

Mark Stone, assistant dean of student activities at Central Methodist University, has won the Power Performers "Campus Event Planner of the Year" Award for 2013. Stone has now won the award four out of the last five years.

He stood out among 1,700 campus event planners worldwide to be honored. The award was created to acknowledge the hard work and dedication put forth creating memorable campus activities and events during the academic year.

"I am very honored and humbled to receive this award," Stone said. "We have a great student activities and intramural staff including students that help put on these great events at CMU."

"We have so many activities throughout the year including the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game trip, St. Louis Blues hockey game trip, ski resort trips, theater trips, movie nights in Columbia, bowling nights, bingo nights, splash for cash nights, illusionists, comedians, magicians, intramurals, etc.," he added.

Stone is a two-time graduate of Central Methodist University, receiving both his bachelor of science in communication and the master of education degrees from the University. He joined CMU in 2007, also serves CMU as the McMurry Hall residence hall director.
