SAI Presents Annual Christmas Concert
CMU combination of vocal and instrumental
The collegiate women’s music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota (SAI) will present its annual
Christmas Concert on Thursday evening, Dec. 8 at 7:30 in Linn Memorial United Methodist
Church on the Fayette campus of Central Methodist University.
The concert is free, although a love offering will be accepted to help the music program in a school where a CMU alumnus teaches.
The concert features students who belong to SAI and its male counterpart Beta Mu Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a national music fraternity for men. As part of the concert, the choirs of each group will perform, as will small ensembles from each.
The CMU Brass Quintet, led by Dr. John Perkins, professor of music whose specialty is high brass, will perform traditional Christmas, as will the Tuba Quartet.
Part of the fun of this concert is not knowing quite what will be performed nor by whom. On occasion, even the professors join as a group and sing something…unusual and Christmas-y.
The two fraternities welcome all to come join the fun at the SAI Christmas Concert.
