Poet Laureate to Speak at Central Methodist University

Also to meet with creative writing class

William Trowbridge, the Poet Laureate of Missouri, will visit Central Methodist University on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013. Trowbridge will hold a poetry reading on the fourth floor of the Inman Student and Community Center on the Fayette campus starting at 7 p.m.

A book sale and signing will follow. This event is free and open to the public.

Trowbridge will also spend time in a workshop with the students in a creative writing class taught by Dr. Kavita Hatwalkar, CMU assistant professor of English. This will provide an opportunity for the students to have their work read by a published author outside of CMU.

Trowbridge is the author of books such as Ship of Fool, Complete Book of Kong, and several others. He was appointed Missouri's third Poet Laureate in 2012 and will serve in this position until January 2014.
