Senior Recital by Two CMU Musicians

McDowell and Richard to Perform

A joint senior recital will be performed on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 4 p.m. in the Willie Mae Kountz Recital Hall on the campus of Central Methodist University.

The recital is open to the public at no charge.

Performing will be Dawn McDowell, coloratura soprano, and Rachel Richard, trumpet. McDowell is a senior vocal music education major from Boonville and is a member of the Conservatory Singers.

Richard is a senior instrumental education major from Eldon. She is a member of Marching and Concert Bands, the Conservatory Singers, and the Jazz Band. She is also a member of the CMU Trumpet Ensemble that has been selected to perform in May at the International Trumpet Guild Conference.

McDowell is a student of Dr. Susan Quigley-Duggan, CMU associate professor of music and head of the opera program. She will be accompanied by Kelley Head, adjunct professor of music.

Richard is a student of Dr. John Perkins, CMU associate professor of music. She will be accompanied by Ruth Spayde, CMU staff accompanist.

Both students present this recital in partial fulfillment of the Bachelor of Music Education.
