Kirby and Long present Senior Recitals

Good day for lovers of good brass

Alex Kirby and Daniel Long will present their senior recital for Central Methodist University on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 4 p.m. in the Kountz Recital Hall on the Fayette campus.

Kirby is a tuba player from Columbia. Long is a horn player from Odessa.

Kirby is a student of Jackie Lordo, adjunct professor of music. He will be accompanied on one number by Kelley Head, adjunct professor of music. One piece he plays, "New England Reveries," will be accompanied by recorded music, an unusual format for a recital.

He will also play a tuba duet with Michael Mountain, a senior music major from Lampe.

Long is a student of Dr. John Perkins, CMU associate professor of music. He will be accompanied by Ruth Spayde, adjunct professor and administrative assistant for the Swinney Conservatory of Music.

For one number he will play a horn duet with senior Luke McKinney from Harrisburg.

Both students present this recital in partial fulfillment of the Bachelor of Music Education Degree.
