Students To Go Caroling For Cans
Proceeds to support ‘Feed Fayette’ effort
Fayette area residents will be asked to both give and receive on Thursday, Dec. 5 when a group of Central Methodist University students go "caroling for cans."
Groups of CMU students, under the coordination of the campus Enactus chapter, will visit homes around the community to sing Christmas carols. In return they will seek contributions of food and funds to support the "Feed Fayette" program, according to Project Manager Dana Peters, a junior accounting major from Waverly.
All proceeds will stay in Howard County, and the hope is that enough will be given to brighten the holiday season for deserving families in the community, Peters said.
The sponsoring group the CMU Enactus chapter is composed of business students. Enactus students, along with other CMU student volunteers, plan to start caroling around 6 p.m. They will be accepting canned goods and other non-perishable food items; cash donations will also be accepted and used to acquire more food items.
For more information, or for an inquiry about making a donation to support this cause, contact Prof. Julie Bennett, CMU Enactus advisor. Her phone number is 660-248-6250 and her e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org.
