CMU Students Honored for Outstanding Work

Business, Accounting and Economics Division hands out awards

The Central Methodist University Division of Business, Accounting and Economics honored 16 students in a special banquet and awards ceremony on April 22 on the Fayette campus.

These students have demonstrated outstanding work in the fields of accounting, finance, business management, international business, marketing and advertising, entrepreneurship, and leadership, according to Julie Bennett, chair of the Division of Business, Accounting and Economics and associate professor of business.

Recognized this spring were Carlos Ribera (senior business major from Fayette) with the Estill Entrepreneurship Award; Jordan Jackson (senior accounting major from Louisville, Ky.) with the Accounting Excellence Award; Alex Hunter (senior business major from Kansas City) with the Banking and Finance Excellence Award;

James Craighead (senior accounting major from Fayette) with the Noble Emmett Baskett Scholarship in Business Award; Anthony Dow (senior business major from Washburn) with the Gentry Estill Award for Total Business Excellence; Adriana Romero (senior, communications studies major from Redwood City, Calif.) with the Susan Estill Award for Total Business Excellence; Matthew Lovercamp (senior business major from Alma) with the Management and General Business Excellence Award;

Erwin Sanchez (senior business major from Fayette) with the International Business Excellence Award; Joe Jefferies (senior business major from Fayette) with the Marketing and Advertising Excellence Award; Melanie Wilmsmeyer (senior accounting major from Franklin) with the Outstanding Senior in Accounting, Business and Economic Award;

Dana Peters (senior accounting major from Waverly) with the Lisa Powell Goessling Merit Scholarship; Madison Lester (sophomore business major from Boonville) with the Shallenburger Accounting Principles Excellence Award; Sophie Wilensky (senior communications studies major from Plano, Texas)  with the Outstanding ENACTUS Senior Award and the ENACTUS Leadership Award;

Jordan Meyer (senior accounting major from Albuquerque, N.M.) with the ENACTUS Leadership Award; Julie Ramiso (senior business major from Fayette) with the ENACTUS Leadership Award; and Shelbi Becker (junior accounting major from Freeburg) with the Departmental Fellow Award for 2014-15.
