Season Finale Music Concerts
Coordinate with Dr. Roger Drake’s Presidential Inauguration
Bookending the activities of this weekend’s formal inauguration of President Roger Drake at Central Methodist University in Fayette will be the final performances of the Concert Band and the Central Choirs for the 2013-14 season.
The CMU Concert Band will open the weekend’s festivities with a concert on Thursday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m. at Linn Memorial United Methodist Church on the campus.
Wrapping up the weekend’s events will be a performance of both the Conservatory Singers and the Chorale on Sunday, May 4, at 4 p.m., also in Linn Memorial UMC.
Both events are free and the public is invited to attend.
The Concert Band will be conducted by Roy “Skip” Vandelicht, assistant professor of music and director of bands at Central. Guest conductor, President Drake, will direct the band’s performance of “Barnum and Bailey.”
Conducting the Conservatory Singers will be Dr. Ron Atteberry, assistant professor of music. Directing the Chorale will be Dr. Claude Westfall, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities.
Both concerts will be live-streamed for those not able to attend on-campus.
