Aiden Smith To Present Senior Recital
Recital after Thanksgiving break
Countertenor Aiden Smith, a senior music major from Fayette, will present his senior
vocal recital on Friday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kountz Recital Hall, Swinney
Conservative of Music on the Fayette campus.
Smith studies with Dr. Ron Atteberry, adjunct professor of music, and will be accompanied by Mary Jane Nance on piano.
Smith’s repertoire will include “Music for Awhile” and “My Dearest, My Fairest,” both by Purcell, with assistance by Anna Kay, a senior music major from Boonville;
Recitative and Aria “Behold, A Virgin Shall Conceive,” “O Thou That Tellest Good Tidings,” “Then Shall the Eyes of the Blind,” and “He Shall Feed His Flock,” all by Handel from his Messiah;
“Va godendo” from Serse by Handel; “Tanto sospirero” by Bencini; and “Scherzando sul tuo volto” from Rinaldo by Handel, with the assistance of Susan Bishop, a senior music education major from Fayette; “Claire de Lune” by Faure, “L’Heure Exquise” by Hahn; and “Abendlied by Mendelssohn, with the assistance of Anna Kay;
“Wie Melodien” by Brahms and “Sure On This Shining Night” by Barber; and “Hey, Ho the Wind and the Rain” by Quilter; “Der Schmetterling” by Schubert; “The Sigh” by Finzi; and “Tout gai” by Ravel.
