SFCC, CMU to hold Lake of the Ozark event |

State Fair Community College and Central Methodist University will hold a spring enrollment event and ribbon cutting Wednesday, Nov. 28 at SFCC's new location in the upper level of Stone Crest Mall, 3797 Osage Beach Parkway, Osage Beach.
The enrollment event is planned from 4-8 p.m. and the ribbon cutting celebration at 6 p.m. Representatives from both institutions will be on hand to discuss programs and services offered at the Lake.
Special activities are planned for children from 3-5 p.m., including skits, face painting, and balloon animals. The SFCC Roadrunner will be on hand to interact with kids.
Local musicians, including students and instructors, also will perform in the commons area from 5-8 p.m.
SFCC President Dr. Marsha Drennon, Central Methodist University President Dr. Marianne Inman and SFCC Foundation member Lynn Farrell will give brief remarks followed by a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony. Representatives of the Lake Area, Lake West, Camdenton and Eldon chambers of commerce will participate.
The new 24,000-square-foot location features twice as much classroom space as the institutions had previously; a larger computer lab; a commons area for students; more administrative room; additional parking; and better visibility.
Through an agreement with SFCC, Central Methodist University provides bachelor?s degree programs at SFCC-Lake of the Ozarks and online. Students can earn four-year degrees in accounting, management, business, child development, criminal justice, early childhood education, elementary education, psychology, nursing, special education, middle school education, and sociology. CMU has moved upstairs to the new space with SFCC.
