CMU Chorale Heads Out on Annual Fall Tour |

Swinney Conservatory's Chorale begins its annual week-long singing trek through Missouri United Methodist Churches and high schools on Wednesday, Nov. 14 and runs through Tuesday, Nov. 20. The Chorale from Central Methodist University includes 30 of the finest collegiate voices in the Midwest.
All concerts that are held in United Methodist Churches (UMC) are open to the public and free of charge. The evening concerts all begin at 7 p.m. The church concerts are scheduled:
Wed., Nov. 14 - Trinity UMC in Moberly
Thurs., Nov. 15 - Monroe City UMC
Fri., Nov. 16 - Chillicothe UMC
Sat., Nov. 17 - Maryville UMC
Mon., Nov. 19 - Stockton UMC
The Chorale will also sing for the Maryville UMC worship services on Sunday, Nov. 18, at both the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.
Additionally, the Chorale will perform for high schools at Moberly, South Shelby, Carrollton, Marshall, Staley (North Kansas City), Liberty, Versailles, and Osage Beach.
Dr. Claude Westfall, director of choral activities at CMU, will conduct the Chorale. He has announced an ambitious repertoire, diverse enough to include such pieces as "O Magnum Mysterium" by Morten Lauridsen, "Let God Arise" by Dmitry Bortniansky, "At the Round Earth" by Williametta Spencer, "Ozark Folk Song" by John Prescott, "Song of the Laughing Green Woods" by Stephen Chatman, "You Cannot Lose My Love" by Sara LaBarr, and their signature song "Beautiful Savior" by F. Melius Christiansen.
