Position Accountable To:? Vice President of Advancement and Alumni Relations

General Summary:?

The Director of Annual Giving plans, organizes and implements annual giving programs to increase dollars raised and the number of donors. The Director conducts ongoing analysis of donor pool, activities, and strategies to ensure effective segmentation, strategies, and results.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:?
  • Responsible for organizing, implementing and directing programs to solicit unrestricted support from alumni, parents, friends, and faculty/staff through direct mail solicitations, phonathons, and other methods.
  • Work closely with Advancement Services staff to define and create solicitation segments and track the results from those segments.
  • Manage the preparation of direct mail and other solicitations, including design, production, and distribution.
  • Manage and supervise phonathon calling.
  • Analyze data in order to increase participation in and dollars given annually.?
  • Develop reporting for daily, monthly, quarterly and annual analysis of programs.
  • Hires, trains, manages and directs student callers during phonathon calling sessions.
  • Coordinates with appropriate university departments to generate restricted solicitations such as Friends of Music, Little Theatre, Athletic Boosters, etc.
  • Work with vice president and directors of development to increase traction for the major gift pipeline, including increasing average gifts and capturing information.?

Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities:

Sets and meets timelines; prioritizes own work, subject to approval by supervisor.

Hires, trains, schedules, and directs student workers for phonathons.?

Education and Experience Qualifications: ?

Bachelor's degree required.? Additional sales, supervisory, and/or business experience preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical skills, superior attention to detail, knowledge of data management, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, technical competence and ability to work as part of a team as well as independently on projects with minimal supervision.?


Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Functionally competent with spreadsheet and word processing programs
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Keyboard skills
  • Knowledge of general office equipment

Other Information and Atrributes:

Requires evening hours and weekends during phonathons and special events.
