Central Methodist University, Fayette, Missouri, invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position in Criminal Justice starting August, 2012. This is a new position in a small and growing Criminal Justice department. Candidates must be committed to a career of excellence in teaching, advising and mentoring.
The candidate's teaching responsibilities will include a variety of courses typically associated with a B.A. or B.S. undergraduate degree including but not limited to: Introduction to Forensic Science, Criminology, Ethics and Diversity, Policing classes, and Senior Thesis.
The position requires a Ph.D. (A.B.D. or Masters will be considered) in Criminal Justice or related field. The preferred candidate will have teaching experience and be ready to collaborate in preparing students for success in law enforcement careers, graduate school, and law school. Readiness to be involved in our local chapter of the American Criminal Justice Association is expected.
The successful candidate will teach a 4/4 load with the opportunity for summer and intersession teaching. Other duties of this position include service on University and Division committees as well as participation in development of curriculum, program review and assessment.
