Central Methodist University has an immediate opening for a User Support Specialist 
 
The position of User Support Specialist is an hourly position. 
 
The User Support Specialist shall:
  • Create, disable, and terminate user accounts according to established guidelines and procedures
  • Serve as front-line technical support for faculty, staff, and students
  • Work proactively, independently, and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students
  • Assist faculty and students with the use of the learning management system of the University
  • Perform basic hardware, software, and network trouble-shooting
  • Maintain adequate documentation according to departmental guidelines on equipment and programs which affect the functioning of the University
  • Provide audio/visual support for conferences, meetings, and webinars
  • Log, track, and monitor work orders from faculty, staff, and students
  • Provide onsite and remote support for the University's regional locations
  • Meet regularly with the Vice-President for Information Services to discuss issues that affect the University
  • Perform other duties as assigned in your area of responsibility
 
Desired/Required Education:
Associate's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of PC hardware and peripherals, Windows operating systems, networking principles, with excellent oral and written skills.  
 
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to and without assistance: Walk forward, backward and side to side, crawl, jump, sit, kneel, climb and descend stairs and ladders, open and close doors, have full motor skills in both arms, hands and all fingers and thumbs.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
