A workshop for those interested in developing or revising a business plan or wanting information about starting a small business in Howard County will be held on Friday and Saturday, March 22-23.

The Central Methodist University ENACTUS team, formally known as SIFE, will host the event.Registration is required by Monday, March 18. There is no cost to attend, and the event is limited to the first 20 registered. Those interested can register online at www.centralmethodist.edu/buildabusiness.

ENACTUS members will work alongside business professionals to assist participants, using an online workbook designed to organize their ideas and develop a business plan. At the end of the workshop participants will be asked to present their plan in front of a panel of business professionals. The winning plan will receive a $250 prize to help in executing their plan.

"We've already several businesses sign up," said Addie Layne project manager and CMU senior. "We're really excited to get to hands on make a difference in the local community."

This ENACTUS project is funded and sponsored by the Wal-Mart Women?s Economic Empowerment Grant. The grant was awarded to support female entrepreneurs, though the event is not limited to female participants.
