MEd Adjunct - Maryland Heights

GENERAL SUMMARY: Central Methodist University is looking for an adjunct instructor to teach a course on exceptional and diverse learners in our Master of Education program. Classes meet one night per week for four hours at our Maryland Heights location.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare for and teach all scheduled classes – 50%

Grade work and provide feedback to students in a timely manner – 40%

Provide office hour/time when available to give extra help/answer questions – 5%

Report and respond to CMU staff as requested – 5%

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

A PhD or EdD in Education is required. Strong background in Special Education is required.

Teaching experience is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit/stand for the duration of the class meetings.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to effectively use email and appropriate Microsoft Office products.

Familiarity with using a course management system

OTHER INFORMATION AND ATTRIBUTES:

Courses are taught in the evenings. Instructor will need his/her own computer to teach the online portion of the course.
