Child Development Adjunct Instructor

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Central Methodist University is looking for adjunct instructors to teach Child Development and Early Childhood Education courses. Courses meet one night per week for four hours at the Maryland Heights and Florissant locations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare for and teach all scheduled classes – 50%

Grade all work and provide feedback to students in a timely manner, maintain gradebook – 40%

Provide office hour/time when available to help/answer additional questions – 5%

Report and respond to Central Methodist University staff as requested – 5%

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is required.

Experience teaching at the early childhood level is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit/stand for the duration of the class meetings.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to effectively use email and appropriate computer programs including Microsoft Office products.

Familiarity with using a course management system

OTHER INFORMATION AND ATTRIBUTES:

Courses are taught in the evenings. Instructor will need his/her own computer to teach any online portions of the courses.
