Assistant Professor of Biology

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Central Methodist University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Biology beginning August 2017.  The successful candidate should have expertise to teach courses in
biochemistry, microbiology, histology and a share of teaching responsibilities for the major's general biology course sequence.   

The successful applicant will join a small but dedicated group of biology faculty teaching in a strong and growing program.  The University has recently expanded its Allied Health Program and a capital campaign to completely renovate the science building is underway.  Applicants should have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences and evidence of a strong commitment to undergraduate education with ability to do research with undergraduate students.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will teach courses in biochemistry, microbiology, histology and a share of teaching responsibilities for the major's general biology course sequence.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: 

Ph.D in the biological sciences and evidence of a strong commitment to undergraduate education with ability to do research with undergraduate students.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Ability to sit or stand for the duration of the class

Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
