Opera WorkshopOpera

The annual Opera Workshop presents standard repertoire, cast with students and guest artists. Auditions are open to all CMU students enrolled in private voice lessons. The primary focus is education, giving singers the opportunity to coordinate vocal skills with the ensemble acting requirement of operatic literature. The opera is performed in English with piano accompaniment. Periodically, the production moves from the Student and Community Center to the University's Little Theatre for a main stage production.

Scholarships are available to all students participating in fine arts, regardless of major. Students must be accepted to CMU and audition in order to qualify for a scholarship.
