Advisory to those who have never driven in the Midwest!!!  You will see highway signs marked with capital letters like “H”, “HH”, “F”, “NN” etc.  These do not refer to hospitals or farms or anything like that.  These are used to designate state highways.  Do not attempt to derive any meaning from the letters, they are apparently random.

To the MDC Forestry Office (Map 2):

South Road is the “Main Street” of Ellington.  It runs south from HWY 106, across from the Hardware Store.

§       Take South Road through town and across the bridge.

§       Continue a couple of miles.

§       You will pass a park and ballfield on the right.

§       Just after the park is a sign for MDC Current River Conservation Area.

§       Continue on South road past this sign.

§       Shortly after this, you will see the MDC Forestry Office on the right.

§       Annabelle should have your housing keys inside.

To the MOFEP Housing (Map 2):

You could take the back way across gravel roads following the sign for the MDC Conservation Area.  For now, I would recommend that you go back to HWY 106.

§       Turn left on 106 and travel west toward the MOFEP housing

§       See the map, continue west on 106 about 5 to 10 miles.

§       You will see the “Lighthouse” chapel or church or something on the left.

§       At the top of the next hill, turn left across from the MDC Current River Conservation Area sign.  CAREFULL!!  This is a blind intersection.  Watch out for oncoming traffic before turning.

§       Continue a few miles, you will pass through a stone entranceway.  The MOFEP housing is just past this stone entrance.
