QUEST Catalog

This catalog includes all materials owned by Smiley Memorial Library. It also contains Central Missouri State University, Missouri Valley College and State Fair Community College's library materials. Items can be requested from this catalog and will be received in 2-3 days.

MOBIUS Catalog

MOBIUS is a consortium of academic libraries with over fifty member colleges and universities in the state of Missouri. Most materials in this catalog can be requested and delivered to Smiley Memorial Library or any other MOBIUS library.  Items usually arrive in 3-5 days.


Databases

Smiley Library subscribes to many online databases, providing access to full-text articles and citations from many different disciplines to students and faculty on and off campus.  Below are the links to these databases, followed by a short description of each.  If you are off campus, you must provide your login information at the prompt. 

Problems Accessing the Databases?

Please make sure all anti-virus software, pop-up blockers, and firewalls are turned off!  These programs will block connectivity to databases.  Be sure you have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer, for viewing PDF files.  This program is free.

With extensive coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and other subjects. Includes over 7,300 peer-reviewed journals, more than 5,000 journals in full-text and access to major Gale reference sets.

  • Comprehensive general interest resource providing periodical and news information. Also includes Fodor travel guides, NPR programs and more than 20 reference sets on a wide range of topics.

  • Infotrac (Subject) Collections

  • Major subject area collections with specific resources for defined areas of study, such as Criminal Justice and Communications.

    A comprehensive database with over 2000 full-text journals from all disciplines.

  • Includes articles in 5 areas: news, business, legal research, medical and general reference. All articles are full-text. This databases includes access to major papers from all over the world.

  • A full-text database of major Missouri newspapers

  • InfoTrac Custom Newspapers
  • Coverage of more than 150 cover-to-cover titles and selected full-text news and business coverage from another 280 sources. Search by title, headline, date, newspaper section or other fields.

  • Business Source Premier

  • Scholarly business database, which includes many full-text resources in all disciplines of business, including marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance, econometrics and economics.

  • Business & Company Resource Center

  • Source for business, company and industry information. Locate company profiles, periodical articles, financial data, market research as well as up-to-date stock and financial information.

  • Small Business Resource Center

  • Covers areas of starting and operating a business including financing, management, marketing, human resources and franchising. Also includes business journals and a wide selection of sample business plans crated by real-life entrepreneurs.

  • A database of articles related to education and teaching provided by Wilson Web.

  • Health & Wellness Resource Center with Alternative Health

  • Specialized reference tool that offers a vast collection of medical information to academic, medical and public libraries. Offers hundreds of health/medical journals, newsletters and thousands of pamphlets and hundreds of streaming videos from medical experts. Provides access to many encyclopedias including Clinical Reference Systems, PDR guides, Medical and Health Information Directory, Gale Encyclopedia of Childhood & Adolescence and much more. Includes Alternative Health module which provides a rich collection of books, journals, magazines on alternative and complimentary therapies.

  • Integrates the full text of respected nursing, allied health and medical journals; consumer health magazines; newsletters topical overviews; and reference books. It offers more than 2,000 full-text sources and hundreds of videos demonstrating medical procedures and live surgeries.

  • A database of Nursing and Allied Health Literature provided by EBSCO.  Some of the article indexed are full-text.

  • CHEMLIBnetBASE

  • CHEMLIBnetBASE goes beyond data to present detailed theory, experimental methods, and groundbreaking research from the world's top chemists. It includes reference information in a variety of subjects from industrial and applied chemistry to areas of forensic science and biochemistry.

  • A database containing a unique set of high impact bioscience journals. All content is full-text.

  • PsycARTICLES is a set of electronic full-text articles from 42 premier journals published by APA and allied organizations. Currently, the PsycARTICLES collection contains more than 25,000 articles published from 1988 to the present in the area of psychiatry and psychology. To use this database, choose "Journals@OVID Full-Text", then choose the limit "PsychARTICLES" on the search screen.
