CMU’s athletic program is coming off one of the most successful years in Eagle athletics history. The CMU athletic department won its first ever Heart of America Athletic Conference Sportsmanship Trophy Award and had three head coaches named conference coach of the year. The softball team won the regular and post-season conference championships. CMU’s spirit squad competed in its first ever United Spirit Association (USA) National competition. Sixteen NAIA All-American Scholars, seven Athletic All-Americans, 25 Heart of America Athletic Conference Scholar-Athletes, and 65 All HAAC conference selections were honored; and Dan Martin (baseball player) was named the Champions of Character male student-athlete of the year. All of our athletic programs had bigger seasons during the 2007-08 than the previous year.

In addition, the University has successfully completed the $5 million Campaign for Eagle Athletics. The campaign funded the combination of new and renovated athletic facilities, including the new football-soccer artificial turf field, construction of the eight-lane track, new track and field event facilities, a complete refurbishing of Puckett Field House and offices in Clingenpeel Gym, a new softball complex, and upgrades to the baseball field, which include a new scoreboard, improvement to dugouts, upgrades to the lights, a new irrigation system and new sound system. The athletic department will soon have a new addition to the north end of Puckett Field House that will house a state-of-the-art strength training and conditioning room, athletic offices, meeting rooms, coaches’ locker rooms, and new restrooms for Puckett Field House.

Central’s athletic programs continue to be a lively and vital part of campus experience. As alumni you can still be an integral part of all the action by joining the Central Methodist University Eagle All-Sports Booster Club! With your $50 annual dues, you will receive a membership card that doubles as a gate pass (for one) to all home athletic events. We encourage you to make a further donation at one of the Levels of Giving ( Coaches Club, Lettermen Club, Black Club, Green Club, Eagle Club, Golden Eagle Club) seen below.
