The Swinney Conservatory of Music Swinney Conservatory of Music

The Swinney Conservatory of Music has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music since 1950 and offers three majors and many performance opportunities.

The Swinney Conservatory of Music was built in 1927 and contains the Willie Mae Kountz Recital Hall, faculty studios, practice rooms and classrooms. The Conservatory basement was completely remodeled and air conditioning was added in 2006.

Referred to as "the con" by professors and students, the Conservatory the center of the Music program at CMU.
