Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)

SIFE is a global, non-profit organization that is literally changing the world through student teams on more than 1600 university campuses in 40 countries. SIFE gives students the tools to learn the free enterprise system in a real working situation. SIFE challenges students on college campuses nationwide to take what they're learning in the classroom and use their knowledge to better their communities. For the first time, Central Methodist University has established a SIFE Team and will be taking their place alongside other SIFE Teams around the world.

SIFE offers these students the opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills through learning, practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise. Every day, out of their own initiative, SIFE students make a difference in their community by helping people develop a better understanding of how our free enterprise system works and how to use this information to empower themselves and achieve new successes.

Beyond the classroom
Working as teams, SIFE students design educational outreach projects that help individuals in their communities develop a better understanding of the principles of free enterprise and how to use this information to empower themselves and achieve their dreams. SIFE Teams take what they learn in the classroom and apply it to real world challenges.

The CMU SIFE Team has begun working with the Fayette Chamber of Commerce to improve communications with member organizations, provide marketing ideas and teach business ethics to local businesses.
