Eagle Golf
Men’s and Women’s Golf will be added to the roster of intercollegiate
sports at Central Methodist University in the fall of 2009, announced
Kenneth Oliver, CMU vice president for campus life and director of
athletics.
Jim Ray Kluck, a member of the CMU Admission staff, will be the head
coach for both the men’s and women’s programs. Kluck served as head
coach for the golf program at Kemper Military School and College in
Boonville from 1988 to 1991. Kluck also served as a football coach at
Kemper and at Boonville high School, as well as with the CMU football
team.
Oliver said CMU would also be hiring a golf pro to work with the
university’s program and that recruiting efforts for the 2009-10
academic year golf teams have already begun. He added that the Perche
Creek Golf Complex in Columbia and Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville
would be used as practice facilities, and that the Hail Ridge Golf
Course may be used as the home course.
Central Methodist previously had a golf program for several years.
Currently the university has 14 intercollegiate sports, as well as
intramural sports.
