Birger Sandzen

Birger Sandzen
April 28-June 13, 1996
Sandzen was born in a small rural village in Sweden but spent most of
his life in Lindsborg, KS where he taught painting and print making for
many years at Bethany College.
This exhibition consisted of over 40 works, many of which were on loan
from the Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery in Lindsborg, KS. Six of the
works in the exhibition were form the Ashby permanent collection.
Sandzen was a true pioneer in establishing the Prairie Print Makers
group which is still active in Kansas art circles since 1930.
