The Art of Giving: Five Years of Gift Acquisitions - 1995-2000
FAYETTE, Mo. – Two new art exhibitions were featured during September
and October in the Ashby-Hodge Gallery of American Art and the Stephens
Museum Gallery at Central Methodist College.
The Ashby-Hodge Gallery of American Art held an exhibition titled "The
Art of Giving: Five Years of Gift Acquisitions - 1995-2000." The
exhibition was on display through Oct. 7.
Featured at the Stephens Museum Gallery was an exhibition titled "The
Art of the Poster: Posters from the Geist/Yancey Collection." The
exhibition was on display through Oct. 19. Featured were more than 50
posters from art shows and other cultural events. The posters were
collected over a period of years from throughout the country by Dr. Joe
Geist, curator of the Ashby-Hodge Gallery, and Tom Yancey, former
curator.
