friends of music

Many thanks for your commitment to the Swinney Conservatory at Central Methodist University. This is another year of much excitement with increased enrollments and many wonderful
improvements happening campus-wide.

We are honored to welcome Roy D. “Skip” Vandelicht ’77 back to his alma mater as the Director of Bands. Vandelicht, well known throughout the state, will assume his leadership role effective July 1st.CMU Concert Band

The improvement of the Davis Field facility has provided a wonderful rehearsal and performance venue for our marching band. Additional infrastructure improvements will soon be completed in the band area, with additional renovations planned for the “horseshoe.”
The next major project for the Con is the renovation of the two upper floors. Additionally, the planning for a Performing Arts Center will be receiving considerable attention in the next several years.

The “Grainger” piano has recently been refurbished and sounds simply elegant. We continue to upgrade and expand our instrument collection and are now seeing the need to increase both our choir robe and band uniform numbers due to increased participation in both programs.

Thank you for your support of Central Methodist University and the Conservatory. Every gift is important and has an immediate and positive impact on the daily lives of our students and faculty.

Sincerely,
Ronald Shroyer, Dean
