The Medical Technology Cooperative Program
This program enables students to complete all liberal arts education
requirements for the B.A. degree in three years at the College of
Liberal Arts and Sciences. Then, after 12 months of full-time resident
study at a school of medical technology, and upon certification by a
school of medical technology that its requirements have been
satisfactorily met, students are awarded the B.A. degree by the College
of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Certification in medical technology is
achieved by passing the examination of the Registry of Medical
Technologists.
To be admitted to a school of medical technology, students must comply
with the requirements of the Registry of Medical Technologists of the
American Society of Clinical Pathologists and with requirements of the
school of medical technology. Central Methodist University maintains
formal affiliations with schools of medical technology which are
approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the
American Medical Association, the American Society of Clinical
Pathologists, the American College of Surgeons, the American Hospital
Association, and other authoritative medical groups. [Please consult
