Major Requirements

Major for B.A. and B.S. Degrees: Thirty semester hours in physics are required including PH 205, 206, 307, and 322. Additional requirements: 19 hours of prerequisite work including MA 118, 209, CH 111, 114, PH 225 and 325. All majors are required to take a comprehensive examination during their senior year. CS 231 and MA 315 may be counted toward the major. MA 308 is highly recommended as an elective course.

Physics Endorsement, Unified Science Major for B.A. and B.S. Degrees: A minimum of 87 semester hours including principal courses in physics and education courses. Fifty-nine semester hours of science including 20 hours of Physics in addition to the list of courses below. Unified science core courses must include BI 101-102 (8 hrs.), BI 301 or ES 201 (4 hrs.); CH 111, 114 ( 8 hrs.); PH 111, 112 or 205, 206 (8 hrs.); Earth Science (GL 101 or 102 and PH 301, 8 hrs.); and History and Philosophy of Science - SC 382 ( 3 hrs.). Related work of 28 hours of professional education courses is required.
