Health Professions
The Division of Health Professions at Central Methodist University
offers three programs that prepare the student for a professional role
related to health care.
The Generic BSN program is a four-year degree program located on-campus
in Fayette, Missouri. This program provides the student with the
educational preparation to make them eligible to take the NCLEXRN exam –
the national State Boards for nursing practice. The program is approved
by the Missouri State Board of Nursing and accredited by The Commission
on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredits this program.
The BSN completion programs, offered through the College of Graduate and
Extended Studies, provide sites throughout the state where registered
nurses with a Diploma degree or an Associates of Science degree in
nursing can complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing. This degree
attainment prepares the student to participate in graduate-level
education, helps to meet personal educational goals, and can make nurses
eligible for some entry-level administrative positions within the field
of nursing. Completion time, based on the initial level of RN
educational preparation, is typically two years.
The Master of Science in Nursing program prepares Clinical Nurse Leaders. The program initially began in partnership with hospitals where CMU has RN to BSN programs: Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Fitzgibbon Memorial Hospital in Marshall, Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, and St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis. The program begins once a year in the fall. Each class moves through the curriculum as a cohort. |
