Elementary

The Elementary Education program at Central Methodist University and its regional campuses is based on the mission of Central Methodist University which is to integrate a high quality liberal arts education and professional preparation so as to promote life-long learning, social responsibility and service within its students. The program is designed to give preservice teachers the fundamental background, concepts, and skills required to be efficient and effective teachers in the public schools. Competency is developed by utilizing a combination of classes, practica, mini-teaching and student teaching experiences that are developmental in nature and designed to encourage maximum growth.

The primary goals of the elementary education program are :
