Major Requirements
Major, B.A. Degree and B.S. Degree: Thirty-three hours in
chemistry including: Chemistry 111, 114, 221, 341-342, 354, 360 or 364
(one credit hour) and 380; and related work of 20
semester hours
including Mathematics 118, 209 and Physics 205-206. The required
assessment examination is included in the Chemistry 380 course. A
maximum of 3 hours total of Chemistry 368 will apply to the 33 hour
minimum. All majors are required to enroll in at least one hour of CH225
during their Freshman or Sophomore year, plus at least one hour of CH325
during their Junior or Senior Year.
Chemistry Endorsement Unified Science. Major, B.A. Degree or B.S.
Degree: A minimum of 87 semester hours including principal and
education courses. Fifty-nine semester hours of science including 20
hours of Chemistry in addition to those listed below. See chemistry
advisor for specific selection of courses. Unified science core courses
must include Biology 101-102 ( 8 hrs.), Biology 301 or Environmental
Science 201 (environmental science, 4 hrs.); Chemistry 111, 114 (8
hrs.); Physics 111, 112 or 205, 206 ( 8 hrs.); Earth Science (Geology
101 or 102 and Physics 301, 8 hrs.); and History and Philosophy of
Science - SC 382 ( 3 hrs.). Related work of 28 hours of professional
education courses is required.
