Major Requirements

Business Common Core:

  • AC201 Principles of Accounting I
  • AC202 Principles of Accounting II
  • BU230 Marketing
  • BU341 Business Law I
  • BU354 Principles of Management
  • BU380 Major Readings

Other Requirements:

  1. As part of the general education requirements, a business major is required to take the following:
    • MA105 Statistics
    • BU 224 Microprocessor Bus. Applications
    • Or 324 Intermediate Spreadsheet Applications
    • EC201 Macroeconomics*
    • EC202 Microeconomics*
      *Those students concentrating in business education would take EC122 in place of EC201 and EC202.

  2. A student who has not completed three years of high school math including Algebra I and Algebra II is also required to take MA103, College Algebra.

  3. A student who is considering graduate school or who is completing a Bachelor of Science degree should complete one of the following:

    • MA112 Selected Topics in Calculus
    • MA118 Calculus/Analytical Geometry

  4. The following courses will meet general education requirements and will complement the business major:

    • PL307 Environmental Ethics
    • PL308 Philosophy & Ethics of Business & Law
    • EN306 Technical Writing
      *Those students concentrating in business education must take EN306.
