The Technology Services Department of Central Methodist University has hired recent
CMU graduate Nidal Memic as its newest systems analyst member.
Memic graduated cum laude in May 2017 from CMU with a bachelor in science with majors in business and computer science, and honors in computer science. His Honors Program thesis was “Utility apps that would benefit students at Central Methodist University on Fayette Campus, how they should work and how can they be expanded.”
Memic graduated from a secondary school in Bosnia and Herzegovina with an International Baccalaureate Degree before entering CMU. While at Central, he served as a resident assistant for three years and served as a support intern for the Technology Services Department over the summer.
“As a resident assistant,” said Memic, “I refined my leadership and communication skills that allow me to be efficient with people. From my personal support and experience, I have gained insight about what common problems occur with database systems and applications used in education.”
"Nidal brings a well-rounded technical background to his new role as systems analyst,” said Chad Gaines, vice president for technology and planning. “The experience he obtained while working as a student in our office and as a resident hall assistant will serve the University very well as he gets up to speed on all of our systems. I'm excited that he is joining our staff.”
On his own, Memic has operated a business, Residential Support, for people in and around Fayette to help with software-related issues, removing Malware, installations, and teaching security and privacy considerations.
As a systems analyst, Memic will provide technical expertise in the setup, implementation, and maintenance of the University administrative database system and associated applications that support mission-critical resources for University business operations.
