CMU To Host MLK Luncheon

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Central Methodist University will host a luncheon on Thursday, Jan. 18 on the fourth floor of the Inman Student Community Center at 11:45 a.m.
Serving as the keynote speaker will be the Rev. Ivan Lee James, a member of the CMU Board of Trustees. Some student testimonials will also be included.
Mid-Missouri residents are invited to participate. The cost for the lunch is $5, and the program will begin at 12:10 p.m.
James earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan., and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. He also completed the Minority Business Executive Program from Tuck’s School of Business at Dartmouth, the Kellogg Executive Program from Northwestern University, the Business of Construction Course at Washington University, and the Supply Change Management course at Saint Louis University.
As a member of the Saint Louis Minority Business Council, James has had several of his companies recognized as minority companies of the year and one which won the Saint Louis American and the Urban League Excellence in Business awards as one of the top 20 minority businesses in the Saint Louis area.
James has also taught at Rockhurst College and at community colleges in Kansas City and Saint Louis.
He is an active member and certified lay leader of the United Methodist Church and serves as the lay pastor of Asbury UMC in Saint Louis.
