Two outstanding music students will be presenting their senior recitals on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 4 p.m. in the Kountz Recital Hall on the Fayette Central Methodist University campus.

Susan Bishop, a music education major from Fayette, will present her vocal recital, and Curtis Lierheimer, a music education major from Mexico, will present his recital on the guitar. This is Bishop’s second senior recital, having presented one in October on French horn.

Bishop will perform “Tornami a vagheggiar” by Handel; “Liebst du um Schönheit” by Mahler; “Windmung” by Schumann; “Il Pleur da mon Coeur” and “Nuit d’etoiles” both by Debussy; and “Clair De Lune,” the third movement of Suite Bergamasque, also by Debussy.

Lierheimer will perform “Study in B minor (op. 35, No. 22)” by Fernando Sor; “Lagrima” by Francisco Tarrega; “Six Caprices (Op. 26, No. 1)” by Matteo Carassi; “Sonatina (Op. 71, No. 1)”--Themes and Variations, Minuet and Trio, and Rondo--by Mauro Giuliani; “Diferencias sobre, Guardame las vacas” by Luys de Narvaez; “25 Etudes (Op. 60),” Allegro and Moderato con espressivo, by Matteo Carcassi; and “Conversation de medianoche” by Curtis Lierheimer.

Lierheimer is a student of Ryan McLouth, assistant professor of music and coordinator of the Music Ministry Program. Bishop is a student of Dr. Susan Quigley-Duggan, professor of voice and opera. Bishop will be accompanied by Mary Jane Nance.

Both students present this recital in partial fulfillment of their Bachelor of Education in Music degree.
