Astronomy Adjunct

General Summary:

Adjunct Professor in Astronomy.  the successful applicant must be able to meet the evening classes twice per week from 7-9pm at the Morrison Observatory located in Fayette, MO. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare for and teach scheduled class - 50%

Grade work and provide feedback to students in a timely manner - 40%

Provide office hour/time when available to give extra help/answer questions - 5%

Report and respond to CMU Staff as requested-5%

Education and Experience Qualifications:

Candidates must have a minimum of a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate course work in  astronomy, astrophysics or physics.

Prior experience teaching astronomy at the college or university level preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit/stand for the duration of the class meetings

Requires normal range of vision and hearing

Other skills and abilities:

Ability to effectively use email and appropriate Microsoft Office products. 

Familiarity with using a course management system.
